Johor Immigration Detains 75 Foreigners in Two-Day Operation
JOHOR BARU: A total of 75 foreign nationals were detained during a two-day immigration enforcement operation at two different locations in Johor by Johor Immigration.
According to State Immigration Director Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus, the majority of the individuals arrested in the raids conducted on Tuesday (March 4) and Wednesday were from Myanmar and Indonesia.
Raid at Pandan Wholesale Market Results in 35 Arrests
“The first operation was carried out at 3pm in the Pandan wholesale market area, a location frequently monitored due to high activity among undocumented workers.
“During the raid, 20 business premises were inspected, and 66 individuals were screened. Of these, 35 were arrested for various immigration violations,” he said on Thursday.

Further Arrests in Bandar Baru Permas Jaya
A second operation was launched at 12.30am in Bandar Baru Permas Jaya, where immigration officers inspected nine shophouses and checked 64 foreigners.
“As a result, another 40 undocumented immigrants were taken into custody,” he said, explaining that the crackdown was in response to numerous complaints from the public regarding illegal workers.
Breakdown of Arrested Individuals
Those detained included 30 Myanmar nationals (nine women), 30 Indonesians (19 women), 11 male Bangladeshi nationals, two Pakistani men, and two Vietnamese men, all aged between 18 and 55 years.
In addition to the arrests, seven individuals were issued notices to assist with the ongoing investigation. All detainees have been transported to the Setia Tropika Immigration Depot for further legal proceedings.
