Despite being 70 years old, Hong Kong’s legendary action star Jackie Chan still insists on performing his own stunts, a career-long dedication that has led to both fame and numerous injuries. In his latest film, Panda Plan, Chan plays a character fighting to protect wildlife from a group of dangerous mercenaries.

However, while filming an intense scene recently, the veteran actor collapsed unexpectedly. The moment occurred during a headlock sequence, where Chan suddenly passed out and fell to the ground, causing panic on set.

In a behind-the-scenes video, Chan’s co-star was seen quickly loosening the hold and helping him sit up, while the crew rushed over to assist. Disoriented and confused, Chan asked, “What’s happening?”

The actor later explained that he likely fainted due to holding his breath too long during the stunt. Chan, ever the professional, took only a short break before insisting on continuing the scene, assuring everyone he was okay.

This is just the latest in a long history of injuries Chan has endured over his career, a result of his commitment to performing his own stunts. “I can’t imagine not doing the action scenes myself,” he said. “It’s what I’ve always done, and I feel like the audience expects it from me.”

Despite the risks involved, Chan remains determined to keep pushing himself physically. At a press event last year, he mentioned that he has no plans to retire from the action genre. “As long as I can still move and fight, I’ll keep doing my own stunts,” Chan told reporters, reaffirming his love for the craft.
