Roadblock Targets DUI and Drugged Drivers
JOHOR BARU: Eight people were arrested in a roadblock operation for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at Jalan Daya and Jalan Mutiara Emas Utama.
The “Ops Mabuk” Operation
The operation, part of “Ops Mabuk,” took place between 1am and 5am on Tuesday (Nov 26), as part of efforts to crack down on traffic violations. Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said six individuals were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, while two others were detained for reckless driving and drug use.
Legal Actions and Court Summons
The arrested individuals have been released on police bail and are expected to appear in court at a later date.
Inspection of Vehicles and Violations
The roadblock involved checks on 116 people, including 98 men and 18 women, and 97 vehicles, leading to 40 summonses for offences such as illegal license plates and non-compliance with seat belt laws.

ACP Raub urged drivers to adhere to traffic laws to prevent accidents and enhance road safety.
